3 cups “King Arthur Flour” Whole Wheat Flour (or unbleached all-purpose flour)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs (or substitute egg replacement)
2 teaspoon 100% pure vanilla extract
3 medium red apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup chopped walnuts
¼ cup butter
½ cup brown sugar
1/3 cup almond or soy milk
