This hydration calculator provides the average amount of water intake per day to maintain good health. Since the body is made up of approximate 75% water it’s important to drink adequate amounts to prevent dehydration. Note that every cell in our bodies is affected when we don’t drink enough water.
Now that you have used the hydration calculator it is a good idea to plan on instituting a hydration program. Water is such a simple solution to keeping our bodies healthy that we often overlook it’s value. The fact is, the health benefits of water to our body systems is far reaching. When we don’t drink enough, every cell in our bodies is impacted. Did I mention that our brain is made up of approximately 75% water. So you can imagine that we need to stay hydrated for mental clarity.
Now, don’t count on waiting until you are thirsty to drink water. In fact, being thirty is not the first sign of dehydration. In fact, by the time you feel thirsty your body’s cells have already felt the need for water. One of the easiest ways to check your hydration level is to look at the color of your urine. The clearer your urine the better. If your urine is yellow or darker, be sure to grab a few glasses of water.
Don’t forget the rule of thumb; half your body weight in ounces is the amount of water you should be drinking per day. Note that if you are exercising and sweating, you need to consider drinking more.
